The Characterisation of Six Natural Resources Production Systems

Jeremy Taylor, Mafia Tang, Carl Beddows, Margaret Quin, and Michael Stocking

This document reports on the characterisation of six production systems (High Potential, Hillsides, Semi-Arid, Forest Agriculture, Land Water and Peri-Urban) that are one of the main features of the design of the Renewable Natural Resources Research Strategy (RNRRS) of the UK Department for International Development. The study was conducted to provide a basis for identifying donor research funding priorities between the six RNRRS production systems and their target countries and served as a guide to research planning in the second term of the programme (1999 - 2005)
